Manufacturing Engineer – Robotic Welding
Hands-on manufacturing engineering opportunity focused on robotic welding programming, process development and weld optimization in a metal fabrication environment.
About the opportunity
This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering opportunity centered on robotic welding automation rather than product design. The primary search focus is Alexandria or Sauk Centre, Minnesota. The same position is also hiring in Hartford, Wisconsin and Grand Island, Nebraska.
The engineer will program and optimize robotic welding systems, develop weld parameters, troubleshoot weld-quality issues, improve cycle time and process performance, support new product introductions and collaborate closely with production, quality, engineering and operations.
Required Qualifications
- 3–7 years of Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or similar experience.
- Strong experience programming ABB or FANUC robotic welding systems. Either ABB or FANUC is acceptable.
- Experience developing and optimizing robotic weld processes.
- Manufacturing or metal-fabrication background.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, weld symbols and GD&T.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
- Degree preferred but not required; relevant hands-on experience is more important.
- Contract manufacturing, job-shop, sheet-metal or heavy-fabrication experience.
- RoboGuide, RobotStudio or MotoSim.
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD or CAD/CAM software.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, AWS welding standards, PFMEA or Control Plans.
